کچھ لوگوں کا خیال ہے کہ ذکر اللہ کرنے کے لئے دنیا کو چھوڑنا پڑتا ہے۔ حقیقت یہ ہے کہ ذکر اللہ اور تصوف کا دامن پکڑنے والے ایک مکمل زندگی گزارتے ہیں، اور دوسرے لوگوں کی طرح روزگار کی تلاش، کاروبار وغیرہ اور اپنے بال بچوں کی پرورش کرتے ہیں۔ البتہ غیر اللہ کی محبت ان کے دل میں داخل نہیں ہو پاتی، کیونکہ جب دل میں دنیاوی خواہشات داخل ہو جائیں تو معرفت الٰہی کا حصول محال ہے۔

مومن ہونے کے لئے لازم ہے کہ بندہ اللہ تعالیٰ سے ہر شے سے زیادہ محبت رکھے۔ کوئی محبت ایسی نہ ہو جو اسے اپنے مالک کی نا فرمانی پر اکسائے۔ یہ کیفیت کسی کامل مرشد کی معیت میں ذکر اللہ کرنے ہی سے حاصل ہوتی ہے۔

For doing Zikr-Allah, it is not necessary to quit the world. However, love of non-Allah must not enter into one's heart.

Explanation: It is wrongly believed that those who engage in Zikr-Allah and Tasawwuf have to leave the world. In fact, they are living active lives, having jobs and families like everyone else. However, love of things other than Allah never enters into their hearts. When the heart is possessed by worldly desires, the real fruits of Zikr cannot be achieved.

A believer should love Allah more than anything or anyone else. Nothing should make him do anything that may upset his Beloved. This is achieved by doing Zikr-Allah with an accomplished, true spiritual teacher.
